Reflecting the ecumenical appeal of St. Francis of Assisi, Franciscan schools create a culture of encounter, where persons representing diverse religious heritages can dialogue. We present our success in convening an ecumenical prayer service. We include the history of Franciscan ecumenism, the challenges and benefits of organizing an ecumenical prayer service for the university and community, and suggestions for participating in the ecumenical celebration of the 1700-year anniversary of the Council of Nicaea in 2025.
