Institutional Faculty Governance requires an understanding of opposite opinions, perspectives, and dialogue. The example of the wartime meeting between Francis of Assisi and Malik al-Kamil provides insight into how large and divergent viewpoints can be narrowed with a deeper understanding of an opposite view.
